(Some happy winners and sponsors 2007-08)
After sixteen years, the administration and faculty are proud to say that the Renaissance Program at MVMS is still going strong. The Renaissance program was implemented to provide a renewed commitment to and recognition of academic excellence. The program places an emphasis on what students are accomplishing in the classroom and gives these students well-deserved recognition for their achievement.
Although honors and recognition are given to individual students, the effectiveness of the Renaissance Program can be seen in many areas. The faculty selects students and these students are chosen based on three criteria:
· Scholastic Citizenship - awards given for regular attendance, homework completed on time, participates in class, completes makeup work, and positive peer interaction |
· Achievement Award - students maintain all 3.0 and/or E's (meets or exceeds the standard) |
Red Card - 3.0 or above |
|
|
Blue Card - Same as above with at least 3.5s' or better in core subjects |
· Hawks Box - awards going to students who are recognized by faculty for being first-rate students. Seen or heard doing something nice above the call of duty during the regular school day. |
